Upper Nile University SPLM Students League conducted its second political rally at the campus calling for south Sudan to separate from the north at the vote for self-determination.

SPLM chairperson for the Referendum Taskforce in Upper Nile, Duer Tut Duer, told the students that the coming referendum was the result and the objective of the war waged by SPLA martyrs, Voice of Love reported.

Mr. Tut said that the martyrs fought and dyed to bring out the freedom of South Sudan.

Mr. Tut appealed to all who had registered for the referendum to go and vote for separation on Sunday in order to become first class citizens in their own country and let the Southern Sudan flag be raised and recognized internationally.

Mr. Tut told the crowd that it is not SPLM that asks them to go and vote for separation as the NCP and other northerners complained.

He added that the people of southern Sudan decided already to vote for an independent state because unity was not made attractive to them.

Mr. Tut said the voluntary repatriation of southerners from north Sudan proved that they chose to have their own independent state.
