The heads of various students’ associations in Upper Nile University raised complaints against the university administration and ureged it to lift all the restrictions imposed on the campus students.
The students’ leaders came up with the decision in support of Greater Equatoria Students’ Association whose Cultural Day activities towards graduation were conditionally halted by the University administration last Sunday evening, Voice of Love reported.The leaders asked for freedom of movement and expression within the campus as rights to be granted to the students in a letter they wrote to the university administration.
They also asked for the library to be open until 9 PM to give students enough time to study.
The letter protested against security personnel moving randomly on the campus with their weapons.
The student leaders urged the university administration to pay back the money spent on the Greater Equatoria Cultural Day preparations.
