SPLM officials were introduced to voting and polling procedures for the referendum to sensitize eligible voters about the best way to vote.

About 50 officials took part in a two-day workshop in Juba to get informed of the legal voting procedures to avoid mistakes that could invalidate the vote.

SPLM secretary for Southern sector Achuil Malit Bangol told SCR News that officials learned about all the steps involved in the voting and polling procedures and their implications.

Mr. Malit said he realized how important was for voters to learn how to fold the ballot paper without making it invalid.

He explained that the ballot paper was folded from left to right to prevent wet ink from marking the two symbols for unity and secession and making the paper invalid.

Mr. Malit urged voters to be careful when they voted and wait for the ink to dry before they folded the ballot paper in four to minimize mistakes.
