The bombings in Bahar El-Gahzal and the legal court case against the South Sudan Referendum authorities are a loser’s last attempt to derail the vote on self-determination.
This is the view SPLM secretary for Administration and Mobilization in the Southern Sector, Kanuto Ekebek Aham, shared with Emmanuel Radio listeners.Mr. Ekebek, who was deployed to monitor referendum exercise in Eastern Equatoria, said the Khartoum government felt threatened by the large turn up of the people for registration.
He asserted that the turn-up indicated the will of the citizens to achieve freedom for their country.
Mr. Ekebek said the SPLM no longer desires using firearms but ballot papers to achieve the freedom of the south.
He challenges the NCP to convince Southerners to vote for unity other than bombarding them and scaring them away.
Mr. Ekebek described the bombardments as the last kicks of a dying horse trying to postpone the referendum.
