The Catholic Diocese of Torit launched a fundraising drive to reopen its seminary school next February.
Torit Diocese Vicar General Fr. Celestino Murras called on the Christian community and people of good will to make contributions for the restoration of Saint Mary’s Minor Seminary.Fr. Murras made the call yesterday during the Sunday Mass at Our Lady of Assumption Church.
He explained that St. Mary’s Minor Seminary was transferred to Uganda during the war and the diocese wants to reopen it in Torit in February 2011for formation of young people into priesthood.
Fr. Murras asked parents to send their children to seminary school.
He said admission forms were sent to the various parishes in the diocese adding that the parish priests would recommend the candidates.
