Education authorities are flying Southern Students from Khartoum to Malakal.
Ninety students reached Malakal airport on Friday and Saturday coming from the University of Juba’s Khatoum colleges, Voice of Love reported.Stephen Changath Tot, who studies at the Faculty of Engineering, expressed his gratitude to the GoSS Ministry of Higher Education for bringing the students to Malakal.
Mr. Changath urged GoSS to bring the rest of the southern students living in the north ahead of the referendum vote for fear of a backlash against Southerners.
Wulaak Kong Kulang, who reads Natural Sciences, said the coming home of South Sudan students will have a positive effect in the development of the region.
Mr. Kulang said he was happy to be together with his family for Christmas and referendum time.
He appealed to the people of South Sudan to vote for separation during the referendum.
More students are expected to be flown from Khartoum to Malakal in the coming weeks.
