South Sudan will have a blood bank thanks to the Global Fund that will donate money to build and run the facility.

Addressing the press yesterday, acting GoSS Undersecretary of the ministry of Health, Baba Samson, said the ministry would sign a deal with the donors to construct a blood bank in the region.

Responding to a query on lack of emergency drugs in government owned hospitals, Dr. Baba said the issue was addressed and the ministry already received a quantity of drugs for distribution to the health centers.

Juba Teaching Hospital has no blood bank and relatives have to donate blood for the patients when they need.
