Three hundred students flew from Khartoum to Juba today to be able to register and vote in the 2011 January referendum.
SCR News spoke withj Ola James Charles and Okeny Julius at the John Garang Mausoleum Referendum Center who said they were registering to be able to vote and witness the referendum results.Wamitte Luke said if he registered in Khartoum it would lead to uncertainty and cheating.
John Abit Men, a students representative, said the students where not able to register in time due to the government policy and financial constraints.
Registration for the poll has been a milestone in bringing the vote for independence a reality.
All indications show that over two million million southern Sudanese are poised to vote for independence from the government in Khartoum on January 9, 2011.
