Egypt donated 200 tents to the people affected by recent floods in Northern Bahr el Ghazal.
Egyptian consul general in Juba Moayad Eldalie told the press this morning that the tents distributed by the Egyptian ministry of Foreign Affairs represented the second batch of assistance to South Sudan after medical aid was given to Jonglei state.On his part, James Kok Ruea, GoSS minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, said the people of Northern Bahr el Ghazal will receive the aid with appreciation.
Mr. Kok added that his government hopes for more support from Egypt in times of disaster.
He said Egypt was the only country that responded to GoSS’ appeal for aid towards the flood victims.
Thousands of people were displaced after huge rains destroyed their homes and property in Northern Bahr el Ghazal.
