An education official decried the low turn up of secondary school students for the referendum registration.

Central Equatoria Director General in the ministry of Education Science and Technology David Lowela Modi told Bakhita Radio that students in secondary schools in Juba aged 18 or over refused to turn up for registration in order to vote in the referendum scheduled for January 2011.

Mr. Lowela said the students’ low turn up would have negative impact on the future of Southern Sudan.

Mr. Lowela called on students to register in order to free themselves and southern Sudan from the bondage of slavery and discrimination.

The registration for the referendum is on its climax, with remarkable turn up in many states of southern Sudan.
