Two people were detained in Torit for allegedly been caught while trying to trade voter cards.
The arrests followed a hunting spree launched by Eastern Equatoria security operatives after a tip off from intelligence informers while others are still at large, Emmanuel Radio reported.GoSS Minister for Internal Affairs Gier Chuang Aluang, who was in Torit, confirmed the arrests.
Mr. Chuang warned against the crooked transacting of voter cards with an ill intention of failing Southerners from achieving their freedom in the referendum.
He cautioned southerners not to sell South Sudan out.
Mr. Chiang said southerner should accept the money and enjoy it but vote with responsibility.
The suspects have reportedly made efforts to woo voters in Magwi County to trade off their freedom cards.
Little information has trickled to the press about the arrests as security declined to disclose more details including the particulars of those arrested not to jeopardize investigations.
