An Indian telecom company wants to set up communication networks in South Sudan rural areas with GoSS approval.

Coral Air GSM Company, which operates in fourteen developing countries including India, Brazil, Nigeria and Rwanda, displayed its gadgets today at the Commonwealth Telecom Conference in Juba.

Coral Air GSM chief operating manger, Soumendra Mahapatra, told SCR News that their technology was cheap and suitable for South Sudan.

Mr. Mahapatra said a network covers a radius of 20 kilometers and it able to communicate with a near-by groups.

Mr. Mahapatra said the technology was user-friendly.

He added that it can create jobs ad form young people on telecommunications technologies.

Some villages South Sudan are so remote that communication remains a major challenge to coordinate various economic, political and social activities.
