The leader of the Sudan Peoples’ Liberation Movement for Democratic Change (SPLM-DC) accused the ruling SPLM for dominating state and sub-referendum committees.
Lam Akol told the media in Juba today that failure to make the committees inclusive has led to difficulties among various political parties.Dr. Akol urged that formation of joint committees at all levels must be sped up so as to attain a satisfactory referendum result.
Dr. Akol said only Lakes state appointed inclusive committees adding that even referendum taskforces at GoSS level were not inclusive.
He added that the referendum belongs to all southerners and t it is the responsibility of every citizen to work for a big turn up for registration and voting.
Dr. Akol called upon South Sudanese to embrace the historic moment of referendum and turn up in bigger numbers for registration.
