Registered voters expressed happiness at referendum centres across Juba today.
SCR News caught up with some citizens to find out their feelings after registration.Jamie Eko registered at Hai Commercial. He told SCR News that he hoped to vote on January 9, 2011.
Anthony Sisto, a 70 year-old, said he did not see any development over the past 50 years under the old Sudan and eagerly waited to vote for separation.
At Juba University Referendum Centre, student Anthony John Ajang said that registered to vote for separation.
Mr. Ajang said that he was free to express his position in the referendum that belongs to the people of Southern Sudan.
Today marked the first day of voter registration with high turn out in most of the referendum centres.
