Referendum authorities are training the staff that will register voters for the five payams of Yei County.

Justin Modi, the coordinator for Southern Sudan Referendum Sub-Committee in Yei County, told Easter Radio that the training is to enable the staff to know how to carry out the process of registration.

Mr. Modi said that each registration centre will have three members: a chief and two registrars.

He added that it is the chief that identifies the applicants when they come for registration.

Clementine Agiye, one of the trainees, said she was very impressed with the training because it will enable her to work well rather than mess up with the referendum which is the last chance to determine the future of this country.

The training started on Monday with staffs from Yei and Mugwo payams and ended today for officials from Otogo, Lasu and Tore payams.
