The Pope presented yesterday a document he wrote on the Word of God to encourage the faithful to be more familiar with the Bible.
Verbum Dominus Ð The Word of the Lord Ð follows the conclusions from the Twelfth Ordinary Assembly of the Bishops on the Word of God in the life and Mission of the Church.Pope Benedict says in the conclusion of his apostolic exhortation that the document aims at encouraging the People of God to become more familiar with the Word of God.
He added that the current time must be increasingly marked by a new hearing of God’s Word and a new evangelization.
The Pope reminds all Christians that their personal and communal relationship with God depends on their growing familiarity with the Word of God.
Pope Benedict reflects on the 55 prepositions presented to him at the end of the Synod two years ago and revisits the document Dei Verbum on the Divine Revelation from the Vatican Second Council.
