South Sudan political parties will hold a leadership council meeting on November 13, a day before registration for the referendum starts.
All the political parties that participated in the recent conference at Nyakuron Cultural Centre were represented at a preparatory meeting to discuss the follow up of most important priority areas related to the conduct of the referendum, GoSS website reported.SPLM Deputy Secretary General for Southern Sector, Dr. Ann Itto, said in a statement that the preparatory committee would come up with a matrix and timetable outlining some of the most critical issues in the resolutions and recommendations that need to be carried out in preparation for the referendum.
She added that GoSS President Salva Kiir Mayardit called for the political parties’ Leadership Council to convene a day before the registration kicks off following the resolutions passed in the all Southern political parties’ conference.
The Council was initiated right after the All Southern Sudan Political Parties Conference that took place in Juba last month.
