The members of Eastern Equatoria referendum subcommittees took oath of allegiance today in Torit to start their duties in the state.
Outreach officer for the Eastern Equatoria Referendum High Committee, Mary Juwa, told Emmanuel Radio that the subcommittee had five members from every county.Ms. Juwa said the subcommittee members were appointed by the Referendum Bureau.
She added they are responsible for distributing materials and ensure the referendum runs peacefully by supervising referendum centres and counting of votes after the exercise.
Mr. Juwa assured citizens that the referendum subcommittees are neutral and will work with international community representatives at the county level.
