Yei River County commissioner assured citizens of a conducive environment for the upcoming referendum.
David Lokonga made this statement during the first meeting of the County Referendum Subcommittee today in Yei, Easter Radio reported.Mr. Lokonga said as the head of security in the county he would make sure that safety was guaranteed to all during the referendum.
Mr. Lokonga added that the County Referendum Subcommittee would get all necessary means in order to ensure the success of its tasks.
Fr. Simon Khamis, public outreach programme manager for the referendum subcommittee, said their work was to provide the citizens with the basic knowledge possible in order for voters to choose wisely.
Bishop Hillary Luwate from the Episcopal Church of Sudan encouraged people to come and register and vote wisely in the upcoming referendum.
The meeting was attended by representatives from all the five payams of Yei River County.
