Juba students are advocating for the separation of Southern Sudan as the gateway for freedom and development of the region.
SCR News caught up with Kator Payam students, in Juba to listen to their views on the referendum and its outcome.Secondary school student Daniel Sule Jada said he expected an independent new nation to pay for the suffering of the people of southern Sudan.
Mohamed Elfaki added that separation was the gateway for development and a better Southern Sudan.
Student Icha stated that secession meant an end to killing and mistreatment of Southerners.
She said that she would make sure her vote counted during the referendum to fulfil her dreams for the new nation.
The students were taking part in a civic education program organized by Greater Equatoria, Bahr el Ghazal and Upper Nile Referendum Forum in the schools of Juba’s Kator Payam.
