The SPLA head of information said cooperation between journalists and security personnel was a very important tool in this upcoming referendum.

Brigadier General Malaak Ayuen made this statement in Yei during a two-day meeting between the press and security that ended today, Easter Radio reported.

Brigadier-Gen Ayuen added that respect and professionalism were other tools the journalists and the security personnel should observe while putting the interest of the people as their first priority.

Yei River County Deputy Executive Director, Scopas Joseph Mogga, said the knowledge the participants got from the two days of dialogue should be put into practice for the wellbeing of all citizens.

Martin Wenge, one of the participants, said the dialogue between the two groups was educative and he wished the days were extended.
