The SPLM leader called all south Sudan political parties for a conference from tomorrow up to Friday to build a consensus in preparation for the 2011 referendum.
SPLM Deputy Secretary General for the Southern Sector, Dr. Anne Itto, told the press today that Chairman Salva Kiir Mayardit called the all-party conference to unite south Sudanese and build a consensus among all political parties ahead of the referendum.Dr. Itto added that the meeting will also discuss post-referendum issues like oil and Nile water sharing.
She said the parties have to agree on how to create an environment that will allow the international community to recognize south Sudan if the result of the referendum is secession and how to react if the NCP obstructs the exercise.
Dr. Itto said that all south Sudan parties confirmed their attendance at the conference that starts tomorrow at the Nyakuron Cultural Centre in Juba.
