Southern Sudan Referendum Bureau announced today that the registration of voters for the referendum takes place during the second half of November and beginning of December.
Addressing the press during his weekly briefing, Justice Chan Reec Madut, chairperson of the Referendum Bureau, said the accreditation of international observers, advocates and media starts on the October 17 followed by the publication of the referendum centers list on November 1.
He added that voter registration goes from November 14 until December 4.
Mr. Madut added that the Bureau is still looking for suggestions on the symbols to be used for the referendum.
Mr. Madut added that the central government has released more than three hundred million US dollars for the referendum although it is not clear how much of that amount will be given to the bureau.
