An official from the southern Sudan AIDS Commission called on the community to plan together to fight HIV in the region. Addressing the attendance at the HIV/AIDS annual stakeholders’ forum in Juba, Viana Kakuli Acting Chairperson of southern Sudan AIDS Commission said the region needs to fight the virus communally, regionally and internationally.
Ms. Kakuli urged the partners to support southern Sudan HIV and AIDS Commission to boast HIV and AIDS activities throughout the region. Ms. Kakuli pointed out stigma and discrimination of people living with HIV and AIDS as a stumbling block to effective HIV services delivery.The meeting brought together members from GoSS ministry of health, World health organization, and other HIV and AIDS partners’ organizations.
