ECS DENOUNCES QURAN BURNING

The Episcopal Church of Sudan ECS denounced a suggestion by an American reverend to burn the Quran on the 9th anniversary of the September attacks

In protest of what it calls a religion “of the devil,” a nondenominational church in Gainesville, Florida, plans to host an “International Burn a Quran Day.

However, archbishop of the ECS Daniel Deng Bull denounced the act saying it is an act of terrorism itself.
He observed that the ECS remain deeply mournful over the extreme act of violence against the people in America by men who claimed to be Muslims acting in the name of Islam.

He noted that these actions are directly contrary to the teachings of the Quran adding that both the bible and the Quran instruct people to love one another.

Archbishop Deng mentioned that the fundamentalist act of the past should not be allowed to generate further fundamentalism in the Christian world adding that people should not allow bitterness and hatred to drive them away from God.

He noted that people still have painful memories but tolerance and forgiveness should be preached unto them
He called upon Muslims in Sudan and all over the world not to react to the words and actions of reverend
