USAID AND UN COLLABORATE TO ASSIST GOSS LAND COMMISSION

United States Agency for international development (USAID) and UN Habitat collaborate to help GoSS Land Commission in developing land polices.
The deputy chief of party of Sudan property rights program Peter Giampaoli told SCR News that partners to land commissions are undertaking research to develop land draft polices.

Mr. Giampaoli explained that the draft polices being developed are based on consultations that aimed at enlightening the commission workers at GoSS and state level.

Mr. Giampaoli said that pastoralist tenure system, women’s land rights, land tenure and economic development among others were among other issues discussed in the workshop.

Mr.Giampaoli called on the participants to practice the ideas planted on them during the workshop.

GoSS and State representatives including traditional leaders were among the participants attending a one-week worship on land tenure and property rights training in Juba.
