Radio Easter, the radio of Sudan Catholic Radio Network in Yei (Central Equatoria), has been inaugurated today.
In front of over 200 people, Bishop Erkolano blessed the radio on Easter day. Government authorities were represented by the Executive Director of Yei County, and representative of other media houses in the area also graced the occasion.
The name “Radio Easter” expresses the determination of the people of Sudan to resurrect after decades of war.
Fr. Joseph Arike Eugenio, Director of Radio Easter, affirmed that the radio does not belong to the Catholic Church, rather it is meant to be the radio of the community.
At present Radio Easter has an outreach of arund 60 Km, which may extend further in the near future.
