An official has said that gender based violence is very common in the post conflict situations.
Talking to SCR News, the senior program officer for Livelihood Initiative with the Women Refugees’ Commission, Jenna Del, said violence against women and girls is very common in the post war situations and needs an urgent solution.
Ms. Del added that her organization is training personnel to prevent violence by identifying vulnerability factors that put women at risk.
Ms. Del explained that the training focused on national and international organizations to prioritize gender based violent in their plans of action.
She said her organization is helping to change policies, practices and how donors can fund safety programmes to protect women against violence.
The three-day training drew 45 participants from the local and international NGOs, government and donors.
