The leader of the United Democratic Front has described the SPLA as a tribal army which interfered with the UDF rally in Yei beating, harassing and arresting people.

Abdel Peter Sule told SCR News that the SPLA in the state behaves like a conquering army which is causing a lot of grievances and bitterness among the citizens.

Mr. Sule complained that the regular forces are made up of officials from two tribes and this is against the CPA.

He added that soldiers disrupted the UDF rally in Yei at the orders of their superiors.

Mr. Sule called for a strict order to be passed to the governors and commissioners to allow political parties to operate freely in Southern Sudan following the call of President Salva Kiir Mayardit to state authorities to provide a conducive environment for free and fair elections.
