The Catholic Cardinal of Khartoum has called yesterday on Christians to be honest and responsible while serving the people.
Cardinal Gabriel Zubeir Wako made this call during his homily at the ordination to the priesthood of Deacon Taban David Kamerino at Torit Catholic Cathedral, Radio Emmanuel reported.
Cardinal Zubeir asked the professionals to focus on the service they are asked to render rather than in the pay they get.
Cardinal Zubeir told the people in authority that the requests from the poor for food, shelter and peace are the requests from God.
He urged parents to play their roles in caring and educating children about God.
Over 15 Bishops, 52 priests, government officials including the Governor of Eastern Equatoria State together with state minister and Members of Legislative Assembly and a large congregation of over two thousand Christians attended the ordination ceremony.
The event that many described as unique for the presence of high calibre Catholic Church leadership in Sudan and the government officials also marked the Silver Jubilee of Fr. Arkangelo Lokoro who has served 25 year in priesthood.
