DEVELOPMENT DOMINATES SUDAN BISHOPS’ CONFERENCE

Sudan Catholic Bishops’ ongoing Conference taking place in Torit town on Thursday morning focused on developmental reports in terms of education, health and media, across South Sudan after three days of studies.
Sr. Paola Moggi, a Comboni Missionary sister, presented the report on Sudan Catholic Radio Network to the bishops’ plenary in the morning, Radio Emmanuel reported.

Meanwhile, Fr. Callistus Joseph, a Claretian from Sri-Lanka, presented his report on Solidarity with Southern Sudan.

Mr. Benson Oduor, on his turn, spoke about the Peace Education Network for integrated learning (Pencil).

Sudan Catholic Radio Network is a body that coordinates the Catholic Radio Stations’ activities in South Sudan and South Kordofan.

The Solidarity with Southern Sudan is an organization of Catholic religious women and men that works on teachers and nurses training in Southern Sudan.

Peace Education Network for Integrated Learning is a body that assist the diocese in the information sharing, Facilitation of Communication between dioceses and stakeholders, Examination and certification as well as on Policy matters.

The first three days of the Bishops Assembly was dedicated to the study of issues connected with the end of the Interim period, especially elections and referendum.
