{"id":40715,"date":"2024-03-27T11:29:00","date_gmt":"2024-03-27T11:29:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/catholicradionetwork.org\/?p=40715"},"modified":"2024-03-27T11:29:00","modified_gmt":"2024-03-27T11:29:00","slug":"catholic-diocese-of-yei-celebrates-chrism-mass-on-tuesday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/catholicradionetwork.org\/2024\/03\/27\/catholic-diocese-of-yei-celebrates-chrism-mass-on-tuesday\/","title":{"rendered":"Catholic Diocese of Yei Celebrates Chrism Mass on Tuesday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By Khemis Van Bismarck<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Catholic Diocese of Yei has celebrated Chrism Mass on Tuesday just two days after Palm Sunday within Holy week<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Yei;\u00a0 Alex Lodiong Sakor Eyobo in his homily to the congregation explains that the day is shifted from Thursday to Tuesday due to pastoral reasons and to allow priests who minister from distance places to celebrate the Lord\u2019s supper on Thursday evening.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The prelate narrates that in the ancient times the day is celebrated together with the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lord\u2019s Supper in the evening hours until when it was separated with guidance from the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">leadership of the church in the 20<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">th<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> century, during the times of Pope Pius and to morning <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">hour to allow Christian involvement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Bishop turned to the anointed priests and advised them to draw closer to the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Christian community to give them hope especially in the context of South Sudan where <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">many people are subjected to suffering of different kinds.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He calls on the priest to offer consolation and encouragement services in person to <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">those carrying burdens, imitating Jesus Christ amidst challenges.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He urges every citizens to embrace good tidings to enable liberation and happiness <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and he also mentioned that everybody has a duty to serve God through the power of the Chrism oil received during baptism.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bishop Alex made these statement during Chrism Mass at Christ the King Cathedral in Yei.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Khemis Van Bismarck The Catholic Diocese of Yei has celebrated Chrism Mass on Tuesday just two days after Palm Sunday within Holy week The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Yei;\u00a0 Alex Lodiong Sakor Eyobo in his homily to the congregation explains that the day is shifted from Thursday to Tuesday due to pastoral [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":40717,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[35],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v22.6 -
