He cautions that, if the roads connecting Ikwoto to other towns are not improved, transportation will be hard especially to business communities, Radio Emmanuel reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFor us here, one of the problems is the road, we are now seeing if the rain starts raining, Ikwoto will become a landlocked county, there will be no getting out and the NGOs will suffer, their cars will be stuck and services will not reach the people. This is what I am seeing will affect all of us, even the business community will not be in position of bringing commodities from other areas like the state, due to the roughness of the road\u201d, he explains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chief Odongi says the county authorities are trying their best to lobby for support from the existing NGOs within to help the community in repairing the roads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe have tried as the county authorities by requesting some of the NGOs if they can help support in terms of food for work for the people to do the work, but the lobbying is in progress. There was a process for the road to be repaired, that the people were going to come in January, but up to now they did not come\u201d, he says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
