Eye witnesses say over 50 children have escaped without their parents

More than two thousand five hundred people have been displaced in Umdolib, eastern Nuba Mountains region, following a recent incursion by suspected Sudanese armed forces.

The displaced have escaped to Timbere, a neighboring village on the outskirts of Heiban County.

Displaced woman Adama Hamad Hassan, who escaped the scene from Umdolib after several days in the bush, said that the situation is still tense including rampant killings of innocent civilians and places leveled to ashes.

Umdolib, which borders the Nuba Mountains to the East, is an agricultural area that witnessed peaceful co-existence during the Sudanese conflict that broke out in the capital Khartoum two years ago.

However as Sudanese government regains control of the capital Khartoum in recent days the army is trying to fledge its muscles by spreading fear around the Sudanese states.
