Three women members of parliament representing Morobo County at the national and state assemblies are visiting the County in a constituency outreach tour.
Officals representing Morobo County payams gathered Wednesday in the County Department of Gender and Social Development to prepare a program for the visit of Mary Apayi Ayiga, Janet Aya Alex and Maka Mustafa, the county pressman told CRN via e-mail.
Morobo County Commissioner Moses Simon Soro said the MPs constituency outreach will give them a proper grasp of issues that affect the people they represent and enables them to target legislation to meet people’s priorities.
He added that the female MPs were most welcome to Morobo County.
Mr Soro urged the MPs to work in partnership with the County authorities to develop Morobo.
Morobo County Women Association Chairlady Helen Khemisa Lowuya said the MPs will hold political rallies in the County from April 8 to 13, covering each payam and concluding at the County Headquarters.
She added that the tour is facilitated by the National Democratic Institute or NDI.
Ms Khemisa said all stakeholders, including youths and women in the County, are expected to have a free say during the tour.
