BISHOP ADWOK PRAISES VOTERS AND APPEALS FOR CALM

Catholic Auxiliary Bishop of Khartoum has congratulated the Sudanese for the way they voted and appealed for calm while awaiting final results.

Bishop Daniel Adwok Marko Kur read a statement to SCRN News over the phone saying the elections were a source of concern for millions of Sudanese.

Bishop Adwok congratulated all the citizens, North and South, for the calm with which they responded to the various challenges of irregularities that surfaced in the course of casting their ballots.

He added that the vote was an expression of the people’s will and their right to choose who should govern them and how they would wish to be governed.

Bishop Adwok asked for the various complaints, irregularities and allegations to be addressed in due process of law.

He added that peace, respect of life and the human dignity are values to preserve.

Bishop Adwok asked citizens to remain calm while waiting for the final results to be published by the National Elections Commission.
