Traders from neighbouring countries have praised Sudan for conducting a peaceful election for the first time in the recent history of African politics.
Mr. Ssenyongo Mohammed, a Ugandan with a business in Torit, praised the peaceful atmosphere during the campaigns to the last polling day, Emmanuel Radio reported.Mr. Ssenyongo added that the environment in Sudan has been more secure and peaceful than ever before the elections.
Mr. Ssenyongo is among few foreigners who remained in the country during the elections.
Another foreign trader in Torit town, Mr. Onesmas Njoroge, a Kenyan, says he believed in peaceful elections and the need to encourage Sudanese citizens to vote.
