South Sudan needs priests that lead through example and unite people in the Church and in the Nation.

This is the view Tombe Trille Kuku, the rector of St Paul’s Major Seminary, shared with CRN after the Chrismal mass in St Theresa’s Cathedral-Kator.

He said that South Sudan is a new national made of people coming from everywhere and priests need to have a message of encouragement to develop the country.

Fr Trille said to renew his priestly vows in the morning mass together with the other priests and bishops was a way of energizing his commitment.

He said although he was a priest for twenty-two years, he felt like he was just ordained.

On Holy Thursday, the Catholic Church celebrates Jesus’ institution of the ordained priesthood and Eucharist and priests renew their ministerial commitment.
