YEI RESIDENTS UNHAPPY WITH BOTTLED WATER PRICES

Yei River County residents have raised concern over the rising prices of bottled water produced locally for the last three months.

Radio Easter moved around Yei to find out that people are not happy for having to pay two pounds for half a litter and five pounds for a litter and half bottles.

Some said the water was too expensive and the Government should force retailers to bring prices down.

Managing director for Hill Spring Water Samuel Chan told Radio Easter that they sell the carton of water at 17 pounds for retailers to resell the half-litre bottles at one pound but they don’t.

There are two water bottling companies in Yei River County but retailers doubled prices some three months ago and the local government is not taking action.
