Yei River County Assistant Commissioner for Water and Sanitation urged the private sector, local government and NGOs to drill more boreholes for clean water provision.
Yuma Hassen Monsua said boreholes were few in the county and some rural and urban areas lacked access to clean drinking water.He advocated for more sanitation work in the county.
Mr Yuma noted that his office lacked competent technicians, funds and spare parts for borehole maintenance.
He called on the people of Yei to use the wells with care and maintain a better sanitation.
The official made the statements in an interview with Radio Easter marking World Water Day.
