The Magistrate of Wau North Court in Western Bahr El Ghazal dropped nine out of ten charges pinned against former Wau County Commissioner.
On Tuesday morning during hearing number five, presiding judge Bouka Ajowaj Makier confirmed one charge against John Peter Miskin under Article 52 of South Sudan Punishment Law, Voice of Hope reported.The Judge explained that Article 52 concerns instigation of violence.
He stated that Mr Peter incited the youth of Wau County to protest against the relocation of Wau County headquarters by blocking the roads.
Impersonation, resistance to house arrest, escape and disobedience to government orders, plus misappropriation of public funds and misleading public and government over the County transfer were among the dropped charges.
The hearing resumes on Friday to hear witnesses on the remaining charge.
