The Land and Survey Department of Tonj South County in Warrap State completed the first stage of opening up roadways in Tonj town.
Peter Mou Athuai, who heads the department, told Don Bosco Radio that the new roads were completed on Monday. He said before the next stage started, the holes left from removing trees must be filled in, according to the contract agreement with the grating machine owner.
Mr Athuai said that the Land and Survey Department was doing its best to accommodate those people who did not have plots.
He added that the people who lost their homes to the new roadways would only have to pay for the marking off by ropes by the Land and Survey Department.
Mr. Athuai concluded that once the grating machine arrived it would only take a week’s time to level Tonj’s new roadways.
