BEST SCHOOL HEAD TEACHER REVEALS PERFORMANCE SECRETS

The head teacher of Khor Modir Girls’ Basic School disclosed the secrets behind its great performance at the 2012 Primary Leaving exams.

Khor Modir Girls took two positions among the top ten best students in Western Bahr El Ghazal State and its passing average increased from 94 to 98 percent.

Ayida Michael Dunia told Voice of Hope that her school has become one of the best in the state because she called weekly meetings with the Parents and Teachers Association and met parents whose daughters were absent from classes.

She noted that she consulted parents of absent pupils at home in order to find the problems preventing the girls from coming to school daily.

Ms Michael explained she made some changes in teaching methods, extended the daily timetable to 2:00 PM, and organized some seminars and regular tests at the end of each topic √ɬê all with teachers’ collaboration.

She added that P8 students started intensive coaching from September until the exams leaving the school at 5:00 PM.
