The authorities of Juba city council on started operation of cracking down bars and lodges illegally built within the residential areas.

Mayor Juba City Council Mohamed AlHaj Babala said citizens of Atlabara area have been complaining that they are not sleeping because of the noises in the hotels.

He said since 2011 a local order had been issued not to build lodges within the resident and those that were built were close down.

Mr Babala added that the quarter council within the resident had to make sure hotels and lodges are not built within the residential areas.

He said the operation that started with Atlabara and will continue in the three Payams of Juba City.

Mr Babala called upon the citizens and the quarter council administrators to be responsible in the three Payams to take care of their area and inform the city council of what is happening.

Mr Babala said stiff measured would be taken against the hotel owners.

The Juba city council closed down a number of hotels as response to complains of the citizens.
