TORIT BISHOP URGES CANDIDATES TO ACCEPT ELECTIONS OUTCOME

The Catholic Bishop of Torit has called on political candidates to receive the results of the ongoing elections without blaming any other party for the outcome.

Bishop Johnson Akio Mutek addressed the press at his residence in Torit on Wednesday, Emmanuel Radio reported.

Bishop Akio observed that upright acceptance of election results portrays political maturity of the candidates and those who do not succeed should wait for another democratic opportunity that will follow.

The Catholic Bishop called on south Sudan to respect and uphold the aspirations of those who lost their lives in pursuit of peace and freedom in the Country.

Bishop Akio said the people of Southern Sudan and the marginalized Communities have a reason to celebrate and rejoice for successfully taking part in a democratic election which is a step to the upcoming referendum due next year.

He added that few incidences of irregularities in the voting process should not mar the success of freedom and peace.

Eastern Equatoria state SPLM candidate for governor, Louis Lobong Lojore, told the press that he is prepared to receive the election without any complaint.

Mr. Lobong said that the elections express the will of the people adding that nobody should dispute the views of the majority.
