The administration of Yambio County ordered traders at Masia open market to demolish their zinc kiosks in order to survey the area.
The demolition started on Tuesday this week to clean the place for proper demarcation, and reorganization of the shops.Masia business chairman John Beida told Anisa Radio that 430 registered traders operating in Masia applied for a plot to build concrete shops after the survey concluded.
He said traders operating legally in Masia would have priority treatment.
Mr Beida warned traders who owned more than three shops in Yambio that they did not qualify for a new plot in Masia.
Trader Santo Angelo Tarangua said he was happy because land demarcation would shape the market.
He asked for the Government to speed up the demarcation to enable traders to build permanent shops.
Teresa Zambi, who leads women traders at Masia, said acquiring a business plot was very important for the future of the children.
She warned traders to avoid selling the plots allotted to them.
The reorganization of Masia Market will take one month.
