The commissioner of Lainya County of Central Equatoria said the construction of a bridge with Uganda is number one priority since it paves the way to development.
On Monday, Governor Clement Wani Konga of Central Equatoria pledged one million Pounds for the construction of a bridge to connect the communities of Wuji Payam in Lainya County with Yumbe District in Uganda.Commissioner Huda Michael Laila said the construction of the bridge at Kaya will generate income to the nation, Radio Easter reported.
She appealed to the government of Central Equatoria state to intervene in the construction of the bridge which is due to be constructed by the Government of Uganda in South Sudan’s territory.
Inspector of Police Lieutenant Colonel Tut Jocok appreciated the Ugandan Government for maintained the road up to river Kaya.
He said he was ready to deploy security organs in the area in case of any insecurity in the boarder area.
The chief of Koyoki Boma in Wuji Payam of Lainya County Edward Banja said the construction of the bridge would bring services to the people of Wuji payam.
He urged the county authority to support them to open a 52-mile road linking Wuji Payam to the county headquarters in Lainya.
