The general elections scheduled to 2015 should be postponed to be conducted under the Permanent Constitution after some issues in the Transition Constitution were fixed.

The Director of Community Empowerment for Progress Organization, Edmond Yakani, told CRN that elections under the Transitional Constitution meant that the emerging Government would exercise its power under the same Constitution.

Mr Yakani said the National Legislative Assembly should delay the elections until the Permanent Constitution reviewed the powers of the President of the Republic and was approved.

The Assembly on Tuesday extended the mandate of the National Constitution Review Commission for two years and approved the use of Transitional Constitution in the upcoming census in 2014 and the general elections in 2015.
