Eastern Equatoria High Elections Committee ordered an investigation into suspected fraud by two election officials and security police in the state.
State Secretary for High Elections Committee, Amos Juma Ochieng, told the press that his office is investigating two Constituency Elections Officers attached to Longaha polling centre in Kapoeta South and Kerepi polling Centre in Magwi County.Mr. Ochieng said the two officers allegedly plotted with the polling security police to tick all the ballot papers and denied the people to exercise their democratic rights.
He added that the polling officials would be arrested and prosecuted in courts of law if allegations are proved true.
The eastern Equatoria state secretary for High Elections Committee did not disclose the names of the two officials in question.
