Civil society organizations have called on South Sudanese to take time and read the Transitional Constitution now that the mandate of the National Constitution Review Commission was extended for two more years.

Community Empowerment for Progress Organization Director Edmond Yakani said there is enough time for citizens to critically scrutinize the Transitional Constitution.

He urged civil society actors to disseminate the Transitional Constitution for citizens to know its weaknesses and take part in its review process.

Zeinab Osman from Women Network appealed to the South Sudanese to read the Transitional Constitution, note what they do not know and ask for clarifications in order to participate and contribute to the making of the permanent Constitution.

Voice for Change Organization Project Coordinator Abila Rueben urged citizens to get the Transitional Constitution and read it in order to participate in the review process to produce a Constitution that pleases every citizen.

Citizens find it difficult to participate in the review of the Transitional Constitution as many have not seen yet a copy of the Charter.
